Copenhagen Airport, located on the island of Amager, 8 km from the city centre, serves Copenhagen and Malmo, Sweden. It serves approximately 50,000 passengers a day. 20.9 million passengers passed throughout it  in 2006, making in the busiest airport in Nordic countries. In 2000 a commuter train line between Copenhagen and Malmo was constructed, and in 2001 five-star Hilton hotel built in the airport.  A Metro station is scheduled to open in October, 2007 to connect the airport with the city.

Presently the airport has 1700 employees, and has a maximum capacity of 83 loadings/hour, with room for 108 airplanes. Copenhagen Airports A/S also operated Roskilde Airport and owns 49% shares of Newcastle  Airport. It is referred to as Copenhagen Airport, Kastrup, to distinguish it from smaller Copenhagen airport, Roskilde.

Terminal 3 serves Air Baltic, Lufthansa, Scandinavian Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Spanair (Alicante, Barcelona, Madrid, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca), Thai Airways International. Thus the airport provides rapid and convenient connection with many countries and is one of the best choices for long-distance travel to Denmark.
